Diagnosis (Runout)

• If U-Joints are not the source of the vibration, runout may be the concern.

• Runout means the shaft is not perfectly round. The maximum a shaft can typically deviate from being perfectly round is .035”.

• Measure the shaft in 3 places; front, middle and rear. Sand off any rust with some sand-paper.

• Measure with a dial indicator, while rotating the shaft.
